Goldie Hotel

This proposal for a boutique hotel is sited at Goldie Place, a small laneway at the centre of Melbourne’s CBD with iconic cobblestones and warehouse conversions. The twelve-storey addition to an existing Edwardian brick facade seeks to create a unique and luxurious guest experience that emphasises timeless and sophisticated design. This emphasis is conveyed through double height ceilings, curved staircases, secret libraries and bars, dimly lit music rooms and a rooftop hangout to engage guests and visitors alike. From the exterior, guest rooms are seen through their pod-like expression yet light and airy inside. Here, guests are treated to a bespoke curved room, conveying organic forms through circular furnishings that look out across magnificent views of the city. The array of spaces and balance of relaxing and social spaces aim to invite curiosity and exploration of the place’s guests stay just as they would the city they are visiting.
